A guide to landing faster in Fortnite Battle Royale
Making it to the ground before your opponent can be the key factor in surviving the early stages of any Fortnite Battle Royale match. We have noticed a lot of players asking the question “How do I land faster in Fortnite?”
So we have decided to answer our fellow fearers of the storm by putting together this quick guide to Landing Faster in Fortnite Battle Royale.
It is important to consider all factors if you are serious about developing your Fortnite skills, this means you need to be doing everything you can to increase your odds, starting from the moment you exit the Battle Bus. The first few minutes of any game are crucial to establishing dominance, and if you don’t intend on dropping in to more secluded areas of the map, you better be sure your Glider skills are on point.
The aim is to reach the ground first and pick up that weapon before your opponent and bag your first elimination fast.
So how do you land faster in Fortnite Battle Royale?
Pick a location to land, but don’t jump from the Battle Bus when you are right over the top as this is counter-intuitive.
What you need to do rather, is exit the Battle Bus a few seconds before you reach your target destination and drop straight down. But be sure to avoid any areas where the terrain is elevated such as hills, mountains or building tops.
Your Glider will automatically deploy when you are approaching a solid surface so it is very important to keep that in mind when choosing where to drop.
The aim is to land as close to the ground as possible and glide towards your target rather than floating directly down.
This will take a little bit of practice to choose the right moment to exit the Battle Bus, but you will start to get a feel for it if you start using these methods every time you play.
It is also worth mentioning that when you land you need to be as close to a weapon as possible and ready to pick it up, meaning it may be a better idea to grab the common weapon that is out in the open rather than spend a coupe of seconds opening a chest only to have your opponent steal all the loot and eliminate you before you get a chance.
Another method that has been proven to work is to leave the Battle Bus as soon as you are allowed, and head back out over the ocean. This will allow you to drop much lower but be careful to deploy your glider before you reach the point of no return and can no longer make it to land. This will result in a quick and embarrassing death.
Not all occasions will call for this tactic though, it is only of use if you are planning on visiting the areas of the map that are close to the coast. Otherwise the above method is your best bet.
