BREAKING – Sony needs a new nappy after leaks emerge for State of Play and a PS5 reveal date.

Bumper rumor day for Playstation with leaks about a potential PS5 reveal in February, and details for this year’s State of Play.

If the latest leaks are to be believed, it’s been a blowout morning for PlayStation fans. Not only have details of the next State of Play supposedly found their way onto the internet, but a leaked marketing email from Sony apparently refers to a “PlayStation Meeting 2020” that’s set to finally reveal the PS5 in all its glory.

This meeting will take place on February 12 next year, and is designed to showcase “the future of Sony PlayStation to the whole world”, and the company is apparently already preparing invites for publishers like Activision, Ubisoft, and EA to showcase their next-gen titles on the upcoming console. Of course, this is still just a rumor so should be taken with a sausage worth of salt.

The new report states the PS5 is all about “hardcore gamers who obsess over the latest features”

While we’ve already had the PS5 confirmed by Sony earlier this year, the PlayStation Meeting will likely reveal much more about the granular details of what to expect from the hardware, which will compete against Microsoft’s Xbox Project Scarlett when both are anticipated to release in Holiday 2020.

That means we could be hearing more about the PS5 specs, PS5 price, and the PSVR 2, which the leak also states is in the works and ready to reveal before the 2021 fiscal year.

We are of course hoping this to be an accurate leak and not a load of codswallop, but it’s exciting to consider what Sony has planned nonetheless, especially as the company skipped E3 2019 earlier this year, and has remained fairly silent since. Here’s hoping it has something big to announce before 2019 comes to a close and hopefully that will be the next State of Play.

The next State of Play is coming this November and will finally give us a release date for The Last of Us 2

Thanks to a  leak via 4chan and NeoGaf, PlayStation’s next State of Play live stream will be on November 1 later this year and will focus on three major new games of 2019 and beyond.

According to a leaked series of emails from Sony’s marketing team that has reportedly made its way onto the internet, The Last of Us 2 will be one of these as well as Death stranding and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about The Last of Us 2, but that’s supposedly about to change.

The rumor states that The Last of Us 2 will get its first new trailer since E3 2018, finally revealing a release date for May 2020, which has been the expected launch window for some time.

Death Stranding, which is out November 8, will get its final launch trailer, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Which, isn’t a Sony exclusive, will also make a showing.   Perhaps to show off some new PS4 exclusive content for those who play Respawn’s action game on Sony’s console.

It’s likely Sony itself won’t confirm anything until the week of the next State of Play itself, whether that is November the 1st or not we shall have to wait for official confirmation.  For now, at least – this latest leak is a telling window into the company’s plans for the next year and beyond, or a really good bluff.
